Finally Moved In!

After a week and a half of living out of my suitcases and lugging them around, I finally got to move in. From the beach welcome, we took the bus to Geelong and then caught a train to Warrnambool. From the train station we had to walk a couple blocks to then catch the bus. Finally, we arrived on campus! I thought that the end was in sight...until I found out that the registration office was closed and I couldn't get my key. But, a nice guy named Jake, got into the office and gave me my key and I was at last in my room that I'll be in for four months. Here in Australia, they don't make you share your room with anyone, which is actually really nice. I live in a one floor house with about 15-20 other people. We share the bathroom and have a huge kitchen and living room area that we share as well. The kitchen is so large that our building is actually called Kitchens!

Once I moved in and showered, I went back to the main building where most of the Aussie students are staying and hung out in the common room with them. We pretty much partied there all night, dancing and getting to know each other. I am proud to say that I taught a few girls how to twerk. That's good old 'Merica for you... After a few tequila shots, aka face kittens, some of us even ended up tasting Rachel's raspberry soap...it's really better to just not ask... I then went back to my room before going to bed and my brilliant self, locked myself out of my room...oops. So in my sweatpants, glasses, and bare feet, I walked back to the main building and asked the security guard to come open it for me. I meant what else should I expect from my first night?

The next day we had a pancake breakfast which turned into a re-hash of the activities that went on the night before. Also, if you've never eaten Nutella on pancakes, you probably should.

Here's a tour of my room for you so that you can picture my life as I write it in this virtual world. Also, I will try and do a tour of the campus soon as well!!
